Color reduction (project No 1)

These programs convert 32 or 24 Bit Pixrect or rayshade to 8 Bit colormapped images using the following algorithms: mediancut, octree, popularity (with optional euclidean distance), uniform quantisation and floyd steinberg dithering.

Bibcard

Bibcard (project No 2)

An X11 based interface for BiBTeX databases. Bibliographic entries can be displayed for each type of reference defined by BiBTeX. Required fields are listed first, followed by the optional fields for that type. Users can select with the mouse the reference type desibox. The user interface follows the OpenLook style. Dropping bib files from the File Manager or Text Editor is possible.

CIMEDIA

CIMEDIA (CD-i version)

The goal of this project consists in developing a new kind of multimedia teaching tool. The underlying medium will be a CD-i developed by Philips. The concrete application shall provide an innovative introduction to the basic notions of CIM. Experts in CIM, graphics design, music, psychology and system programming are working together to examine and apply a number of possibilities of this new technology.

Ascom

Participation on the Interop tradeshow in Atlanta in 1996

Bruno Grossniklaus designed the concept for the Ascom booth showing the Ascom product ATMLightRing with live video over ATM (using CellStacks from K-NET), video on demand and video conferencing systems (like CU-SeeMe). After evaluating the required hard- and software and organising the shipment he presented the products between the 16th and 20th Sept. at the booth in Atlanta USA to the interested public.
